Where Does the Money Go?

WeatherBug

Built to withstand all kinds of weather, the WeatherBug Tracking Station sits on the Pine Grove School roof, where it records 27 different real-time weather measurements. Its live weather data is fed into an online educational program, the WeatherBug A+chieve Classroom. WeatherBug cameras bring the data gathered from our Tracking Station live into the classrooms and our Technology Media Center, thereby introducing hundreds of learning possibilities with visual footage of weather systems, cloud formations, sun and moon positions, and more.

Our students are actively engaged throughout the school year studying their town and the habitats of nearby wildlife.  The introduction of the Weather Bug System will enhance the study of weather and climate, and their impact on local environments and habitats, which is incorporated into our curriculum in many grades.

All students (K-6) use WeatherBug data to create short and long range graphs and charts, uncover new ways to log and record long-term data, better understand analysis of data, and promote a basic understanding of meteorology.

The WeatherBug A+chieve System supports the overall goals of our school science curriculum standards as well as promoting student achievement in math, geography and technology.
